On a Friday night in Ryde where most people are having a night in after a long week at work, Coburgs is alive with music lovers eager to hear what the plethora of local talent has to offer .
The first act on at any gig is always a hard task but Cam Hughes’ Frank Turner and Johnny Cash influenced indie acoustic warms up a steadily building crowd with his smooth vocals and songs about island life and heartache.
Next on the bill are the penultimate act of the evening Red Herring who arrive to an already buzzing crowd of friends, family and music lovers.
Their beautiful take on popular rock and indie classics are very well received by everyone in the building who sing along to every word and dance with every once of passion in their soul!
The final act are Dreamer Joe. This three piece are on a one way ticket to stardom, all dressed in black, talented and only 17 years old. They mix covers of classics with their own 70’s influenced original hard hitting songs of love, loss and beautiful story telling in their own manic yet melancholy way. The packed crowd can’t get enough of it!
Tonight has been a success for bands and music fans alike, people will be leaving in a sweat induced yet satisfied mess!
